Sisters!

Sara is pregnant too! She's about 10 weeks here, due October 19, 2008. Congratulations Sara & Charlie, baby is excited to have a cousin! Yea!

Easter 2008

24 weeks = 6 months!

I can't believe it's 6 months already! This is a really fun stage. I love all the kicking and moving. He's pretty active, and now he packs a good punch that Patrick and others can feel him too. At first, he seemed to move mostly to loud sounds from the tv like a motorcycle revving (on the Long Way Down show about Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boreman on their trip from Scotland to South Africa) or the movie 3:10 to Yuma (a western) - both of which Patrick was pretty happy about. But now he moves quite a bit anytime. You can even see the belly move. Crazy. I love it.

Baby Bump 21 weeks

Baby bump at 21 weeks, Friday, February 22, 2008.

The baby is really moving now! He seems to stay pretty quiet in the morning, but during the day at work and during the evening is the most fun with lots of little movements. He loves his dad lots already; anytime Patrick puts his hand on my belly the baby goes wild! His dad bought him a super soft and cute stuffed animal fox today. Maggie thought it was for her, so we had to quick put it in the baby's room. Sorry Mags! She got lots of treats and hugs and a walk instead. Here she is on Valentine's Day.

This weeks cravings: cream cheese wontons & a vanilla milkshake from McDonald's (to be had in the same sitting). Fruit is still #1 though. Lots of fruit and I'll be fine; can't get enough. Patrick sure liked joining in on the latter cravings!

20 week ultrasound

20 week ultrasound today, February 15, 2008

from the mom:

Today we got to see our baby! They checked all the measurements, which look good at this point. I know I'm biased because I'm the mom, but the baby is so beautiful! It was so amazing to watch him move (yes, him! we are really pretty sure! there seemed to be quite the evidence at certain points!). He put his arms up by his face a lot and moved his mouth open and closed. His little heart was beating so cute (yes a heart can beat "cute" to a mom & dad) at 150 beats a minute, within normal ranges. I've been feeling little flutters the past 2 weeks which has been really fun. Especially when I'm in serious meetings :) Today felt like another chapter opened and it all became even more real. I can't stop smiling. Thanks everyone too for your comments! They are so fun to read.

from the dad:

Yup! He's got a twig and two berries! Well, maybe not two berries yet but the twig is definitely there. Now, watch it come out a girl. Oh well, who cares anyway as long as it's healthy! I'm a very happy guy and proud to be the father of my son. Feels wierd to say that...my son. I think I'll say it again...my son. Wow, still not used to it. Good times.
